zinc sulfide, zinc sulphide, ZnS, sphalerite; wurtzite; zinc monosulfide; irtran-2; cleartran, CAS# 1314-98-3,
Chemical Formula: ZnS
Zinc Sulfide occurs naturally as "blend," and is prepared directly from the elements and by precipitation of a zinc salt solution with ammonium sulfide. It is produced at a relatively low cost so many of its applications are as a substitute for other materials. ZnS is a gray or off white powder that is insoluble in water, but soluble in acid.
Zn= 57% min. and S= 28% min.
100% finer than 45 microns.
