Petalite / Lithium Aluminum Tectosilicate Description:
Rare, light and fragile with tabular or columnar crystals. A monoclinic mineral with a framework silicate structure. Its color is creamy to white and sometimes to more rarely pinkish. It has a thermal expansion coefficient lower than almost any other inorganic or organic filler. It is found in granite pegmatites, locally constituting an ore of lithium.
a) Option A: SiO2= 77%, Al2O3= 17.5%, and Li2O= 4.5%
b) Option B: SiO2= 47.2%,Al2O3 = 38.8% and Li2O= 11.8% and Other alkalis= 0.5%
