Reade Advanced Materials offers:
Tin Metal & Powder
Synonyms:
Tin mossy
Designations:
Chemical Name: Tin
Chemical Formula: Sn
Description:
Known since ancient times, tin is a silvery-white, lustrous, malleable, ductile metal. It has a highly crystalline structure and , when tin is bent, the crystals break, emitting a crackling tin cry. As a result of aluminum and zinc impurities found in tin, it changes color at 13.2°C. Tin's chemical resistance and ability to be highly polished make it useful for coating other metals to prevent corrosion.
Chemical Properties Available:
99.5%, 99.8%, 99.85%, 99.99%, 99.999%, and 99.9999%
Shot, spheres, mossy, granules, single crystal, targets, foil, wire, and rod. Tin powder and particles are available as fine as nanometer sizing.

As a pure metal, tin is used in the production of electronic valves, and in the production of food packaging for distilled water, beer and carbonated drinks. It can still be used in storage tanks for pharmaceutical chemical solutions, in capacitors electrodes, fuse-wires, ammunitions, tinned iron sheets to protect victuals, sweets or tobacco etc. The tin powder is used in the production of these papers and of inks and sprays.
