Reade Advanced Materials offers:
Platinum Metal & Powder
Designations:
Chemical Name: Platinum
Chemical Formula: Pt
Description:
Platinum is a silvery-white, lustrous metal that is malleable and ductile when pure. It has magnetic properties when combined with cobalt. Platinum metal occurs native contaminated with small amounts of all the platinum group metals; iridium, osmium, palladium, ruthenium, and rhodium. It does not corrode or tarnish in air and is not affected by water. In its finely divided form, platinum is an excellent catalyst. Similar to palladium, platinum absorbs large volumes of hydrogen.
