Any of the several steels containing 12 to 30%
chromium as the principal alloying element. They usually exhibit
passivity in aqueous solutions. They are more resistant to rusting and
staining than plain carbon and low alloy steels. This is caused by the
addition of chromium. Stainless steel is a generic entry with detail
provided by these subentries: austenitic, cast, ferritic, and
martensitic.

Aerospace, architectural, automobiles, chemical,
fasteners, electronic, food handling, furnace parts & fixtures,
hardware, jewelry, low-temperature environments, marine & sea water
environments, office equipment, pharmaceutical, welding, and pulp &
paper manufacture. Particular stainless steel powders provide corrosion
resistance, surface finish, wear resistance, machinability, oxidation
resistance, eliminates plating, elevated temperature strength, and low
Coefficient of Expansion
Drums.
