9/01/2005 The READE_® employees donate cash to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund

On 1 SEP 2005 the global employees of Reade Advanced Materials voted to immediately send a substantial cash donation to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund administered by the American Red Cross.

Please join the READE_® employees in praying for those who were hit with the massive Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast. Pray for the search and rescue teams scouring the area for survivors. Encourage them to persevere in their efforts to bring relief and support. Especially pray for the peace of the Lord to be upon those waiting who have lost loved ones and property.
8/29/2005 READE_® to lecture at M.I.T. on the prevention of industrial dust explosions

On 4 OCT 2005 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, Mr. Charles Reade will be the guest speaker at a joint meeting of the American Powder Metallurgy Institute and the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. He will lecture and answer questions with the direct assistance of experts from Fenwal Protection Systems (FENWAL) on the dangers within R&D and manufacturing facilities of the storage, handling and use of particle materials and nuisance dust.

Mr. Reade is a former member of the NFPA Committee on Combustible Metals, a current member of the Metal Powder Producers Association and a periodic expert witness for industrial dust explosion lawsuits. He literally grew up in the dangerous world of manufacturing magnesium metal powder. The trend in the use of inorganic powders is to utilize finer inorganic particles in production environments. All of these may create hazards that have been known to take lives and cause insurmountable property damage.

At the Rhode Island Salute to Small Business Ceremony on 17 MAY 2005, the U. S. Small Business Administration in Providence, Rhode Island presented to READE_® the prestigious "2005 Exporter of the Year Award". READE_® was nominated for the award by the Bank of America.
3/07/2005 Charles Reade receives the distinguished lecturer award

Mr. Charles Reade received an award for being a distinguished lecturer at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island on the subject of the cultural aspects of conducting international business. Mr. Reade reviewed the wide variety of issues that a USA exporter must contend with in a foreign country including building relationships, respecting face, mobilizing local assets, negotiating contract terms, using time more consciously, "due diligence" challenges, negotiation tactics, risk analysis, handling pricing pressures, and getting paid. 2/17/2005 READE senior management approved for Six Sigma Champion training in May 2005
The READE management team will commence formal Six Sigma Champion training on 2 MAY 2005. As a Six Sigma Champion, they will learn to identify the elements of a well-written business case as well as learn the importance of project selection. Champions act as change agents by selecting and defining projects, mentoring Black Belts, and ensuring that Six Sigma remains aligned with the READE corporate strategic goals. They will guide Six Sigma practitioners within READE at the executive level, identify problems worth solving, provide resources, break down barriers, and offer feedback.
1/13/2005 READE Latin America schedules first trade mission to Brazil

The READE Latin America Sales Office, located in the Republic of Panama next to the Panama Canal, has scheduled in October of 2005 the first READE LatAm trade mission to the industrial and R&D centers of Sao Paulo and Campinas in Brazil. Campinas' is easily South America's most important technology manufacturing center. Teaming with the RIEDC and the US Department of Commerce, the mission's goals are to gain first-hand market information and to meet one-on-one with Brazilian companies who have previously purchased from READE LatAm or since the year 2002 have indicated interest in doing business with READE LatAm.

11/18/2004 READE receives AUSA Award of Excellence

On 18 November 2004, the employees of READE received the Award of Excellence for Community Outreach from General Gordon Sullivan, the President of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). A volunteer military chaplain from READE provides on call pastoral care services to National Guard, Reserve and other soldiers in New England. 05/14/2004 READE receives sales agency for Euro-Alliages' Kwik-Lap product

Reade Advanced Materials is now the exclusive agent in The Americas for the Kwik-Lap product manufactured by Euro-Alliages in France. KWIK-LAP is a nylon mesh with diamond grains in it for lapping and polishing very hard materials like: Ferro-Tic, Ferritan, steel, hard metals, bornite metals, glass, and all types of synthetic materials.

The Kwik-Lap kit pack contains 3 different diamond granulations: a) D-400 (coarse grained) for lapping coarser and smeared surfaces. b) D-600 (medium grained) for lapping scratches and chatter marks. c) D-1200 (fine grained) for fine works. 10/07/2003 Her Excellency Linda E.Watt, the U. S. Ambassador to the República de Panamá, formally opened the new READE Export Sales Office at the Port of Balboa next to the Panama Canal at a formal ceremony and reception attended by governmental and Latin America trade business leaders. 7/22/2003 The U. S. Commercial Service in Washington, D.C. has announced that Her Excellency Linda E.Watt, the U. S. Ambassador to the República de Panamá will formally open the new READE Export Sales Office on 7 October 2003 at 1800 hours. This new export sales office of READE is a spin-off result of participating in the Secretarial Trade Mission to Mexico in June 2002. READE is one of the recognized exporting "success stories" of the U. S. Government.

It presents selected published technical information related to new specialty chemicals that were recently developed in national, academic, or commercial laboratories and were just introduced to the commercial market. 4/1/2003 Ms. Karen Ramos was promoted to the position of Eastern Region USA Sales Manager of Reade Advanced Materials and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the corporation. Ms. Ramos joined the Reade Team in June of 1998 and prior to this promotion was the Senior Administrative Manager of READE.
2/28/2003 Sr. Carlos Hassán joined the READE Team as the sales manager of our new Latin America Sales Office (Reade International Ltd., S.A.) located at the Port of Balboa in the República de Panamá. 12/26/2002 To more effectively service the 20 countries within the Latin America higher tech industrial marketplace, Reade Advanced Materials has decided to finalize actions required to open up at or near 1 MAR 2003 an export sales office and distribution facility in the strategically located Republic of Panama. It will be located at the Port of Balboa next to the Panama Canal and staffed only with Spanish speaking and educated sales engineers.
